We Are Talking Pyramids
2012 Summer Art Residency

HOLA’s first Public Art Project will be led by artists Pearl C. Hsiung and Anna Sew Hoy.  Their goal for the Project is to collaborate with HOLA students to create a multimedia, multi-venue public art project that draws inspiration from the history of MacArthur Park and its pre-existing structures and public art.  The personal histories and everyday experiences of the participants will also be a source of inspiration.
Meeting in weekly classes and in workshops, participants will learn about the different mediums of contemporary art that will used in the public art project, which will be unveiled this August. Participants will be engaged in every step of the creative process, from research and idea generation, to the production of the sculptural, performance based and video aspects of the project.

We want to thank all our amazing youth, families, and artists who came out to join us for We Are Talking Pyramids! We had a great turnout, and we had an absolute blast sharing the day and our art projects with the community. Check out some of the snapshots we captured during the festivities!Â
